Break Even Consulting has supported the Municipality of Samos in the proper design of sewerage systems, aiming to improve the operation of existing systems and address the need for new sanitation infrastructure, while ensuring the safe disposal of human wastewater. In addition to ensuring public health, wastewater collection and treatment contribute to the protection of the aquatic environment and play a key role in environmental protection.
Upon completion of the studies and the proposed works, a comprehensive overview will be available to the Municipality of Eastern Samos for the status of its wastewater infrastructure, providing significant environmental and economic benefits for the Municipality, its residents and visitors.
Description
Regarding the sewerage projects studied by the Company for the Municipality of Eastern Samos, the following have been successfully completed:
- Maturation studies for the replacement of the gravity wastewater transmission pipeline of the town of Samos.
- Replacement of the main gravity wastewater transmission network of the town of Samos, Municipality of Eastern Samos.
- Maturation studies for the restoration of the operation of the wastewater treatment facilities of Vatheos WWTP and Kokkari WWTP.
Solution
Within the framework of the study entitled “Maturation Studies for the Replacement of the Gravity Wastewater Transmission Pipeline of the Town of Samos”, the proposed works are:
-
New gravity pipeline with a total length of 2,000 m.
- Parallel wastewater collection pipeline with a total length of 1,350 m.
Within the framework of the study entitled “Replacement of the Main Gravity Wastewater Transmission Network of the Town of Samos, Municipality of Eastern Samos”, the proposed works are:
- New gravity pipelines with a total length of 3,300 m.
- Replacement of the electromechanical equipment of the existing A1 and A0 pumping stations, which are located along the coastal front of the settlement of Vatheos.
Within the framework of the study entitled “Maturation Studies for the Restoration of the Operation of the Vatheos WWTP and Kokkari WWTP”, the proposed works are:
- Upgrade of the Vatheos WWTP (complete operational design, including hydraulic systems, pumping systems, screening, aeration tanks, electrical systems and automation, telecommunications, other main and auxiliary installations).
- Upgrade of the Kokkari WWTP (complete operational design, including hydraulic systems, pumping systems, screening, aeration tanks, electrical systems and automation, telecommunications, other main and auxiliary installations).
