The National Business Plan (NBP) for drinking water is specialised into 13 Regional Business Plans, which form an integral part of it, constituting a strategic plan for investments during the 2021–2027 programming period, following the mapping and assessment of the existing situation and the identification of optimal solutions for strengthening and upgrading the existing infrastructure, with the main objective of covering drinking water needs.
Description
The NBP for drinking water aims at the holistic implementation of Directive 98/83/EC, ensuring a documented presentation of the need for investments that will guarantee water of adequate quantity, within the specifications of the Directive, for all residents of the country as a top priority.
For the preparation of the National Business Plan for drinking water, the following activities were carried out:
- Assessment of the current situation regarding the implementation of Directive 98/83/EC on drinking water
- Identification and planning of appropriate public investments
- Techno-economic evaluation of investments for the renewal of existing water supply infrastructure, including networks
- Investigation of potential financing instruments
Solution
Adequate water supply, in compliance with the specifications of Directive 98/83/EC, for all residents of the country.
