The wastewater treatment unit study for the new port of Symi ensures the daily operation of the Municipality of Symi and contributes to improving the quality of life of residents and visitors to the island.
Through the works proposed by our Company, improved operation and high performance are ensured with the lowest possible environmental impact from the installation and operation of the new wastewater treatment unit.
Description
As part of its cooperation with the Municipality of Symi, the Company has studied:
- The optimal hydraulic integration of the new wastewater treatment facility into Symi’s existing and operational sewerage system.
- Improving the possibility of connecting the new facility to the existing tanks of the sewerage network.
- Seawater intake works for supplying the new wastewater treatment unit.
- The building infrastructure for the treatment unit, specifically the configuration/construction of the main facilities of the installation and the construction of the engine room.
- The water supply works for the water supply network, specifically the pumping station for transferring water to the water supply network.
- Brine disposal works.
Solution
Within the framework of the project “Supply and installation of a wastewater pumping station with a capacity of 1,000 m³/day in the area of Neo Limani Symis,” the proposed works are
- Wastewater treatment unit installation works, to be constructed within the site where the project “WWTP – Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility in the ‘Aigialos’ area of Symi” will be built.
- Seawater intake and conveyance works, to be constructed near the coastal area of the port of Symi.
- Potable water conveyance works and brine disposal works.
