Description
The preparation of the Operational Plan for Securing Public and Communal Spaces (E.S.E.K.K.) aims to contribute to the completion of the implementation of the urban plan, through the acquisition of designated public and communal spaces and green spaces. In addition, it records the existing situation regarding the implementation of the approved urban plan and evaluates the risk of losing unacquired public spaces.
Through the preparation of the Operational Plan for Securing Public and Communal Spaces (E.S.E.K.K.), the Municipality of Messini will have at its disposal the following:

A Geospatial Database based on the approved urban plan for the entire urban planning unit, in which the spatial data will be recorded together with their corresponding descriptive information, as well as historical archival data.
- A Technical Report documenting the content of the Geospatial Database and providing all necessary analytical information for each Public and Communal Space that has not been acquired. It will also include: a) documentation of the intervention’s necessity, b) analytical documentation of the classification according to the corresponding Action required for its implementation by the Municipality, and c) a timeline for implementation of the actions with proposals and conclusions.
Solution
The preparation of the Operational Plan for Securing Public and Communal Spaces contributes to the promotion of spatial planning, the completion of the implementation of the urban plan, as well as the recording of the existing situation regarding the implementation of the approved urban plan and the assessment of the risk of losing unacquired public spaces. Finally, through its proposals/conclusions, it will contribute to improving the urban environment through further urbanization, expansion of cities, and trends of uncontrolled development.
