The Break Even Consulting team contributed to the development of a methodology for recording fauna, flora and habitats, with the aim of consolidating data and improving their monitoring, in order to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity and the protection of the environment.
Description
The conservation and protection of the natural environment and biodiversity is a priority for our country, as well as for the European Union. In recent years, continuous degradation of natural ecosystems has been observed, making it necessary to take decisive measures for addressing this challenge. The collection and recording of the status and population of various species of flora and fauna contributes significantly to the development of policies and legislation aimed at preserving biodiversity.
Solution
The Break Even Consulting team contributed to the following:
- Review of the recording methods and approaches used in Greece and across Europe.
- Creation of a list of species and habitat types in Greece.
- Definition of inventory parameters for each species.
- Development of a detailed recording methodology.
