Break Even Consulting has supported the Municipality of Mandra-Eidyllia in upgrading and modernizing the water supply systems in the settlements of Agia Sotira, Palaio Koundoura, Palaiochori and Mytika, as well as in the settlement of Alepochori in the Municipal Unit of Vilia.
The complete upgrade of the water supply infrastructure is expected to provide multiple benefits in terms of the daily service and financial activities of residents, as well as improve the quality of life of the area’s inhabitants.
At the same time, the modernization of water supply infrastructure ensures the rational use of water resources, at a time of acute water scarcity.
Description
In relation to the Municipality of Mandra-Eidyllia water supply studies, the Company has successfully studied the following:
Water supply works in the settlements of Agia Sotira, Palaio Koundoura, Palaiochori and Mytika.
- Four (4) above-ground water supply tanks with a total usable capacity of 1,000 m³.
- External potable water supply network to the new water tanks with a total length of 11,500 m.
- Booster pumping station within the settlement of Palaiochori.
Water supply works in the settlement of Alepochori and the nearby residential areas (Ag. Kon/nos).
- External potable water distribution network with a total length of 27,030 m, made of third-generation polyethylene PE 100, with a nominal pressure of 12.5 and 16 Atm and various diameters.
- Booster pumping station within the settlement of Alepochori for conveying desalinated water from the unit installed within the settlement.
- Discharge pipeline for the transfer of desalinated water with a total length of 1,680.00 m.
- Water supply tank with a usable capacity of 100 m³. The new tank will cover the water supply needs of part of the Alepochori settlement.
Solution
Within the framework of the project “Hydraulic construction of an external drinking water network in the areas of Agia Sotira, Palaio Koundoura and Mytika,” the proposed works are:
- New Agia Sotira Water Supply Tank
- New Palaiochori Water Supply Tank
- Reinforcement Water Supply Tank of Nea Zoi
- New supply pipeline to the tank of the Agia Sotira settlement
- New supply pipeline to the tank of the Palaiochori settlement
- New booster pumping station next to the existing access road within the Palaiochori settlement, ensuring the operation of the aforementioned new supply pipeline to the new Palaiochori Water Supply Tank.
- New supply pipeline
- New Mytika Water Supply Tank, near the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos, with a usable capacity of 100 m³.
- New supply pipeline to the Mytika settlement tank. The new pipeline, with a total length of 5,050.00 m, consists of two sections: the first section supplies potable water to the Nea Zoi settlement, while the remaining section concerns the supply of the Mytika settlement.
Within the framework of the project “Replacement of the Internal Water Supply Network of Alepochori,” the proposed works are:
- Booster pumping station with a flow rate of min Q=30 m³/h and a manometric head of H=60 mWC, next to the new desalination unit with a capacity of 600 m³/day.
- Discharge pipeline for the transfer of desalinated water with a total length of 1,680.00 m.
- Water supply tank, at the location where the old tank is currently situated, which will be demolished, with a usable capacity of 100 m³
- Potable water distribution pipeline network in the Alepochori area with a total length of 27,030 m.
