Break Even Consulting has prepared studies in six Industrial Areas, aiming to ensure the safe treatment of water and the provision of water of suitable quality and quantity to the businesses supplied by ETBA VI.PE. Through field studies carried out in each Industrial Area, good treatment and management practices were evaluated, while technological and methodological approaches for water treatment were proposed, with the aim of upgrading the water supply network.
Description
The project concerns the assessment and evaluation of the existing condition of the water intake points and the overall water supply infrastructure of the Industrial Areas, with particular emphasis on the issues faced and investigating, in parallel, the legislative framework governing water abstraction. The operation of the water supply systems was assessed in relation to industrial activity.
Furthermore, in order to ensure the safe treatment of water and the provision of suitable quality and quantity of water to the businesses supplied by ETBA VI.PE., studies were carried out on the adoption of appropriate water treatment practices and methods. Through the study, methods for upgrading the water supply systems managed by ETBA were proposed, as well as methods for improving water quality and ensuring its rational use, with the aim of strengthening the resilience of the network and businesses.
Solution
Through the completion of the formulation studies, a comprehensive framework of proposed water treatment methods and practices was developed, adapted to the specific hydrogeological management conditions and data of each Industrial Area. For each water abstraction point, the application of technologies was investigated in order to meet the specific quality requirements through specific technical and system solutions. Upgrade of the water supply network managed by ETBA, as well as the implementation of new water treatment systems, in order to make the extracted water suitable for human consumption.
