Break Even Consulting has undertaken the preparation of a study for the Strategic Planning of the University of Ioannina, focusing on the evaluation of study programs and the future development and employment prospects of graduates. The sustainability studies aim to maintain and enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of postgraduate and undergraduate programs, both nationally and internationally.

Description

The studies are divided into the following categories:

Sustainability Study for Postgraduate Study Programs (PSPs): As part of this study, interviews were conducted with the Directors of the PSPs, recording their objectives in order to analyze and assess the programs. In addition, external evaluators were involved, examining the PSPs in terms of their competitive position compared with other universities, while also analyzing labor market needs and prospects. Finally, the availability of resources and funding opportunities for the PSPs are examined.
Sustainability Study for Existing & New Undergraduate Study Programs: The purpose of this study is to shape the strategic approach for the existing undergraduate programs, with regard to a) the structure of the programs, b) the academic staff, c) funding, and d) their future objectives. Finally, the appropriateness and prospects for introducing new study programs are examined, as well as the resource and infrastructure requirements for their operation.

Solution

The studies provide a substantial evaluation of the study programs, identifying their strengths and weaknesses as well as areas requiring improvement. Furthermore, they highlight the prospects for graduates in the labor market and their contribution to the local community. In this way, the preparation of the studies contributes to improving the University’s Strategic Planning and developing sustainable academic programs.
