The objective of INNOVATE EAST is to bring together, for the first time, public bodies, the academic community and businesses from the wider region of Messogeia and Lavreotiki, in order to mobilise young researchers and scientists to develop innovative business ideas that will contribute to addressing contemporary challenges. The competition is the first in a series of initiatives of the Metropolitan Region of Messogeia and Lavreotiki, involving 50 years of operation, while Break Even Consulting has undertaken the organisation and coordination of the competition.

Description
The Competition aims to mobilise young researchers and scientists to develop entrepreneurial ideas that will contribute to addressing contemporary challenges in the wider region of Messogeia and Lavreotiki, focusing on the Blue and Green Economy sectors.
The competition process will include the following stages: a) submission of innovative business ideas, b) two evaluation phases by members of the Scientific Committee, including distinguished academics and business executives, c) a mentoring process for the development of the business proposals, and d) presentation and promotion of the winning proposals at the Competition Awards Ceremony. The winners will receive prizes of €5,000, €3,000 and €2,000.
