Break Even Consulting Group at Thermopylae Forum 2025 on the Agricultural Economy and Sustainable Development

Break Even Consulting Group participated in the forum entitled “Agricultural Economy & Sustainable Development – The New Growth Model for Greece”,which took place with the participation of the Minister of Rural Development & Food, Kostas Tsiaras, and the MP for Phthiotis, Yiannis Oikonomou.

During a particularly substantive panel discussion, with the participation of prominent political representatives, the development prospects of the primary sector and the need for investments in modern infrastructure and innovation were discussed. Minister Kostas Tsiaras, highlighting the strategic importance of the agricultural sector, stated:
“The primary sector is not simply a sector that attracts attention in a country because of the economic added value it creates; rather, it is a decisive factor for social cohesion.”

In the same context, President of Break Even Consulting, Dr Markos Margaritishighlighted the need for targeted investments in innovation and infrastructure, stressing that every meaningful development intervention is based on three interdependent factors: technical projects, maturity and financing..

Drawing on his extensive experience, Mr Margaritis pointed out that the availability of financing tools alone is not sufficient unless projects have first undergone the appropriate technical preparation and maturation.

Referring to the importance of technical maturity, Mr Margaritis noted that, through the accumulated knowledge, experience and technical expertise available in the private sector – as in the case of Break Even Consulting Group – critical gaps in project preparation and documentation can be addressed. Targeted use of available resources can serve as a catalyst for unlocking funding and substantially advancing development interventions.

Also participating in the Forum was Antonis Papadopoulos,, Head of Growth & Strategic Partnerships at Break Even Consulting Groupin a panel entitled: “Public Interest Algorithms: Artificial Intelligence in Citizen Services”In his remarks, he stressed the need to connect university research with the needs of Local Government Authorities and businessesas a key prerequisite for leveraging innovation and creating a tangible impact at the local and regional level.

The Forum concluded with the Annual Excellence Awards Ceremony for outstanding students of Phthiotis, honouring the efforts and excellence of the younger generation. In this context, Markos Margaritis had the honour of participating in the awards ceremony, contributing to a symbolic yet meaningful moment that highlighted recognition, excellence and the prospects for progress in the region.
